General Information
The DPC´07 (International Conference on Dynamical Process in Excited States of Solids) is the 16th in a series of meetings held every two years, beginning in 1978 in Athens, Georgia, USA. Afterwards, the meeting was held in 1979 in University of Wisconsin (USA), 1981 in Regensburg (Germany), 1983 in Stanford University (USA), 1985 in Lyon (France), 1987 in Tsukuba (Japan), 1989 in Athens (Georgia, USA), 1991 in Leiden (The Netherlands), 1993 in MIT in Boston (USA), 1995 in Cairns (Australia), 1997 in Mittelberg (Germany), 1999 in Puerto Rico (USA), 2001 in Lyon (France), 2003 in Christchurch (New Zealand) and most recently in 2005 Shanghai (China).
DPC is a cross disciplinary meeting for scientists interested in theoretical and experimental aspects of the dynamics of excited states in condensed matter in Physics, Chemistry, Life sciences and Material sciences. Basic as well as applied science aspects are covered. As in previous editions the meeting will be of limited size (~ 200 participants) in order to create an adequate atmosphere for discussion and knowledge transfer.
The meeting will include invited lectures, contributed presentations and posters. All of them will be plenary and will cover the following general topics:
- 1. Dynamics of highly excited states of solids.
- 2. Dynamics of macromolecules and biomolecules.
- 3. Excited states in clusters and nanoclusters.
- 4. Energy transfer and exciton dynamics.
- 5. Electron-phonon interaction and phonon dynamics.
- 6. Coherent, nonlinear and high resolution spectroscopy.
- 7. Ultrafast phenomena.
- 8. Spectroscopy of nanoscale and single nano objects.
- 9. Excited state dynamics under extreme conditions (pressure, magnetic field, stress,....).
- 10. Excited states studies based on syncrotron radiation and free electron lasers.
The DPC´07 will be held in the beautiful and peaceful town of Segovia (Spain) which is located ~90 Km away from Madrid. Conference will take place from 17 till 22 of June.
As in the previous DPC Conferences, all accepted manuscripts will be published in a special issue of Journal of Luminescence.
